More from the Northern Ireland Balloon Launch
Friday, 8 February 2008
Collette King
Thanks to Collette who has registered to run a 10k in Liverpool in May and will be raising money for our charity.
OUR VERY SPECIAL BOY!!!!!
This week our little boy made us both very proud.
On Tuesday he was awarded Pupil of the Month for excellent behaviour and effort. When he received his award in front of the school assembly, it was pointed out that his was a celebrity due to his appearance on GMTV!!!
At this point and totally unprompted he began to tell the whole school about his little sister, who had died and what we were trying to do!!! HOW PROUD ARE WE!!!
And I bet more than a few of you have a little tear in your eye!
A slight change in our objective
When we started off on our campaign our sole objective was to raise money. However what we have realised this week is how important and also rewarding it is to raise awareness. You can not put a price on this-but every person we help by talking about still birth and neo natal death, makes this campaign even more worthwhile/rewarding.
Following our GMTV interview Sian was approached by someone who had encountered still birth and was looking for someone to talk to-(PRICELESS)

Great Balloon Launch in Northern Ireland
Thanks to my colleagues in Northern Ireland.
Today was the Great Balloon launch with balloons released from every BonMarche store in Northern Ireland. These had all been purchased by their customers and should contribute a considerable amount to the fund! I will let you know how much when I find out the total and hopefully some pictures.
Funny story!!!! After seeing this event communicated in local newspaper, Connswater store was contacted by air traffic control at Belfast airport, who instructed them that they would need clearnance!!!!
Thank you in particular to Alison and Michelle

Lastest fundraising initiative has been launched by my Bonmarche stores. They are looking to get baking recipes from each store's customers and create a baking recipe book. We will the sell the book with all profits going to the charity. I will keep you posted with updates.
