Great North Run

Well at last I've completed my commitments to cover 40 miles of running and 40 miles of cycling!! Completed Great North Run on Sunday 5th October, which was the last of my runs. Unfortunately I have damaged my meniscus in the process and may need an operation on my knee-but it was all worth it and I plan to do more half marathon's next year (if anyone wants to join me!-knee permitting obviously!) I can now go and have someone fix my meniscus!!!!

Hello Sean, Sian, Liam and Niamh
Just by chance we came across your article in the Bón Marché magazine, it came as such a surprise as big magazine readers we never have came across stories about Edwards Syndrome before. We are a family from Derry in Ireland and as we have picked up we are also part of the Celtic Faithful! On St Patricks day this year 2008 Debbie my wife announced the glorious news that she was having a baby after 12 years from having our only child Caolán, it was a shock to us all but soon turned to joy! We looked forward to holding our brand new baby until our 23rd week scan we discovered abnormalites and our whole world turned to devastation. We went through amniocentesis tests which revealed That Our Precious Boy had Edwards Syndrome! We were devastated the weeks that lay ahead were traumatic, as Debbie was not due to the 20th of November. A routine scan on the 30th of september revealed that Braedán had no heartbeat although unexpected we felt mixed emotions. Mentally and pysically our bodies could not take any more. We still enjoyed the beautiful experience of holding our son, who looked like any body else just with internel anormalities! Hes now our special Angel in Heaven our hearts are broken but we're sure in time these wounds will heal! May we take this opportunity to commend you all on all your Charity and Fundraising for Sands Stillbirth Charity. I Hope in the future we can make contact as part of the Celtic Fc family.
Keep Us In Your Prayers At This Dificult Time. God Bless
Dinny, Debbie and Caolán Mc Ginley.
